OwnStead Privacy Policy
Elbo International Pty Ltd (ABN 47 633 344 215) · Last updated August 2026
WHO WE ARE
OwnStead is developed and published by Elbo International Pty Ltd, Victoria, Australia. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
WHAT OWNSTEAD COLLECTS
OwnStead does not operate any servers and does not receive any of your data. Everything is stored locally on your iPhone. The app stores the following data on your device:
• Item details you enter: name, brand, model, serial number, purchase price, retailer, purchase date, condition, and notes
• Photos you capture or import, including receipt and item images
• Warranty records extracted from receipts or entered manually
• Provenance and sweep records: cryptographic hashes and timestamps (no photos are stored in the hash chain — only fingerprints)
• 3D room scan files (USDZ) captured via LiDAR on supported iPhone models, stored locally and covered by your iCloud device backup
• Your app settings and preferences
HOW YOUR DATA IS STORED
All data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or back it up. OwnStead does not sync data across devices. Your vault is protected by your iPhone's standard iCloud Backup — governed by Apple's iCloud Terms, not Elbo International.
AI PROCESSING
All AI scanning, OCR, and data extraction uses Apple Intelligence running entirely on your iPhone. No photos, receipt images, or extracted data are sent to any server — including ours. OwnStead is only available on devices that support Apple Intelligence; there is no cloud fallback.
CAMERA ROLL ACCESS
If you grant Photos permission, OwnStead can scan your camera roll for receipt and order-confirmation photos. This scan runs entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. No images are uploaded, transmitted, or stored outside your device.
PHOTOS LIBRARY
OwnStead saves captured item photos to an "OwnStead" album in your iPhone's Photos library, in addition to storing them in-app. This ensures your photos are never trapped inside the app and remain accessible even if you stop using OwnStead.
NOTIFICATIONS
OwnStead schedules local notifications only — warranty expiry reminders, insurance renewal alerts, quarterly vault health summaries, and verification sweep reminders. These are generated and delivered entirely on-device. No notification data passes through Elbo International's servers.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
OwnStead contains no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services that transmit data to external servers. App purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store; Apple's Privacy Policy and Media Services Terms govern those transactions.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
OwnStead is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through OwnStead, please contact us and we will address the concern — although given that no data is transmitted to us, this situation should not arise in practice.
YOUR RIGHTS & DATA CONTROL
Because all your data is stored on your device, you have complete control:
• Back up all your data at any time from the My Records tab — the portable .ownsteadbackup is available in every entitlement state, including after a subscription lapses
• Delete all data by deleting the app from your iPhone
• Transfer your data to another device using the vault backup (.ownsteadbackup) export
As no data is held by Elbo International, there is no data held by us to request, correct, or erase.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of OwnStead after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
